An audition is a tryout for an acting or modeling role. It is a chance for you to read for a part in a play, film or commercial. Usually you must read lines from the specific role that they are hiring for, but sometimes the casting agent or director will have you read a monologue or some other part that you have already memorized. Therefore it is good to have monologues already memorized and rehearsed that include different themes, comedic, dramatic, adventurous, etc. You should always be on time and prepared when going to an audition. You should also ask them to consider you for other roles they may have. It also helps to research the director or the producers before going so that you can speak to them about things they have done before. A little edge always helps.
